Bonded Together in Covenant

    2. Pain that results in beautiful music
    3. Choosing between bleeding fingers or gathering dust
  2. What is a Covenant
    1. Wedding Comments – Covenant vs. Contract
Christian Marriage is ROOTED in the Gift of Covenant.
A man and a woman who share a deep love and who are convinced of God‘s will for their permanent union, elect to enter into the covenant of marriage.
A covenant resembles a contract but it is more. A contract specifies the legal role each party will play for the other with consequences for breaking the contract included. Generally speaking, contracts enable each party named to protect themselves. They provide the legal language necessary to satisfy civil authorities. But a marriage covenant goes beyond the legal requirements of the law, though it does involve legal steps to validate the relationship in the eyes of society. A marriage covenant is more about pledging godly love to the partner in a way that protects the other rather than one‘s self. The solemn covenant undertaken between two Christians involves each person giving of themselves to the other‘s benefit without reservation. It is a costly giving,
for one cannot predict the future and there is no way to know what will be required of either party. Nevertheless, it is a covenant relationship to which God calls the couple, expecting that the holy pledge taken between these two humans includes the ongoing presence of the One GOD who created them—thus forming the threefold cord [which] is not quickly broken
      (Eccles. 4:12).

  6. With All This In Mind, one more time: Our Covenant
We are banded together as a Christian Church to maintain the worship of God, to proclaim the gospel of Christ, to develop in people a consciousness of their relations and duties to God and their fellow souls, and to inspire them with love for truth, passion for righteousness, and enthusiasm for service. To this end we pledge our loyalty to Christ and covenant with each other to strive to express His spirit in our individual and corporate life: to live together as Christian brethren, and to submit ourselves to the government of this church, working, giving, praying for its increase, its purity, its peace, and seeking in every way to make it a power for the building up of the Kingdom of God.
